FOREWORD

First of all I am grateful to Allah who has been

given the opportunity to make a scientific work on
this text procedure . Do not forget the blessings
and greetings to the Prophet Mohammed that
have become role models for life . Thanks also to
Mrs. Neti teacher who has given his knowledge to
his students and has contributed to help make
students become smart .
CHAPTER I
PROLUSION
1.1 Background

In the 2nd half xi class will be found material about the

procedure text , the students are expected to understand exactly
what is called the procedure was especially k3 text requires Students
to be more active and creative. therefore one of the English teachers
at SMAN 3 Nganjuk told us to write a paper about the procedure so
that we better understand the text and understand about the
procedure text.

1.2 Formulation of Problem

For the background , we will discuss about :

1. What is the procedure text ?

2. What the characteristict of Procedure Text ?
3. How to make a Procedure Text ?

1.3 Purpose of this Scientifiec Method

1. To know a description of Procedure text

2. To know a characteristic of Procedure text

3. To know step by step to make a Procedure text

1.4 Research Method

1. Via a Book

2. Via Browsing
1. Definition of scientific method.
The scientific method is used in science as a means of gaining
understanding about the physical universe. There are differences of
opinion on exactly what the scientific method is, but basically it
consist of the following main part.

2. Step of scientific method.

a. Observation a perception, viewing of phenomena.
b. Hypothesis: a proposed explanation is develop to account what
has been test are observed.
c. Experimentation test are developed to validate, invalidate the
hypothesis.
d. Prediction: after test and validation of the hypothesis,
predictions are made based upon the evidence gethered in
experimentation
e. Theory: a theory is bassed upon a hypothesis, verified by
testing.
And is generally accepted as being an accurate explanation of
Phenomena.
CHAPTER II
INTRODUCTION

A procedure is a specified series of actions or operations which

have to be executed in the same manner in order to always obtain
the same result under the same circumstances (for example,
emergency procedures). Less precisely speaking, this word can
indicate a sequence of tasks, steps, decisions, calculations and
processes, that when undertaken in the sequence laid down
produces the described result, product or outcome. A procedure
usually induces a change. It is in the scientific method.
CHAPTER III
2.1 Definition of Procedure Text

Procedure text is a text that is designed to describe how

something is achieved through a sequence of actions or steps. It
explains how people perform different processes in a sequence of
steps. This text uses simple present tense, often imperative
sentences. It also uses the temporal conjunction such as first,
second, then, next, finally, etc.

2.2 The Generic Structure of Procedure

- Goal : It is containt the purpose of the text. (e.g : How to make

spagheti)

- Material or Ingredient : it is containt of the materials that used in

the process. (e.g : the material to cook omelette are egg, onion,

vegetable oil, etc)

- Step : it is containt of the steps to make something in the goal.

(e.g : first, wash the tomatoes, onion, ...., second cut the onions

becomes slice. . . )

2.3 Language Features of Procedure Text

In the Procedure Text, we use

- SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE. And:

- Use of imperatives (e.g.: cut, don’t mix)

- Use of action verbs (e.g.: turn, put, mix)

- Use of connectives (e.g. : first, then, finally, …)

- Use of adverbial phrases (e.g. : for five minutes, 2 centimeters from

the top)

2.4 Purpose of a Procedure Text

An anticipated outcome that is intended or that guides your

planned actions. A particular course of action intended to achieve a
result. Or To help us do a task or make something. They can be a set
of instructions or directions.
