UNIT : the system unit is a box like

case that houses the electronic component of the computer which are used
to process data.

MOTHER BOARD :- the system unit is also known as main board
or system board which contains many different type of chips &
sockets.

CPU (CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT ) :- CPU is
known as the brain of computer the speed of a CPU is measured in GHz
(Gigahertz ) . The faster the speed of the speed of the CPU ,faster the
computer can operate.

 Ram (random access memory ):- ram is referred as a memory in a
computer term . Ram consists of memory chip that can be read form and
written by CPU . When the power is switched on to start a computer certain
operating system files load form a storage device such as hard disk into ram
.These files remain in ram as long as the computer is running additional
programs and data are also loaded into ram form the storage .it loses its
contents when the power is removed form the computer . For this reason ,you
must save any items you may need in the future .saving is the process of
copying form ram to a hard disk.

Rom (read only memory ):- as the name read only the data on
ram chips cannot be modified its contents ( data ) are not lost when power is
removed form the computer rom contains the basic input /output system
(B.I.O.S.) which is a sequence of instruction the computer follows to load the
operating system and other files when you first turn on the computer

Expansion slots and expansion cards :- an
expansion slot is an socket where you can insert a circuit board into a
motherboard .

Ports :- A port is a connector or socket at the back of a computer ,
example - serial port , parallel port , power port , USB port . Keyboard
port, network port , modem port Etc.

Floppy disk drive:- A floppy disk drive is a device
is a device that can read from and write on a floppy disk.

CD – Rom Drive :- A device that reads data stored on compact
discs (SD) is a CD –Rom drive.

DVD –Rom drive :- device that reads data stored on DVD
– rom discs is a DVD rom drive
