WHAT IS ELECTRICAL ENERGY?? WHAT IS CONSUMPTION OF ELECTRICITY?

government. We collected the readings of
current which is consumed in last few
months in LPU. Punjab government is
supplying approx.5-6 Mega Watt every
Month. The electricity bill is
approximately 2 crore per month.

HAIR DRYER: 00.03 KWH
KETTLE : 1.5 TO 3 KWH

ROOM CONSUMPTION : Avg. 300 UNITS
AND THERE ARE 8 boys hostels 6 girls hostels and

ACCORDING TO OUR SURVEY THE MAIN CAUSES OF ELECTRICAL WASTAGE IN LPU ARE:

THESE ARE RESULTS OF OUR ONLINE SURVEY
According to the offline and online
survey we found that:

 Electric kettle, geyser , cooler , AC, lifts these are the appliances which
consumes maximum amount of energy
 Every student having laptops uses it an approx. of 4-5 hours per day, for
different purposes .
 Approx. 70 percent of students forget to turn off their fans and lights and
geyser when they leave room
 WH smith , fridge , oven, and heavy number of lights are switched on
everyday every time in every BOYS HOSTEL.
 So many students use fans for drying their clothes mostly ground floor
students .

 In every hostel at 9 am there is always an announcement regarding switching
off the lights and appliances.
 When we talked to HOSTEL WARDEN about turning off the unnecessary lights
in hostels they I found that my hostel light was turned off during night from
last few days
 In hostel mess the workers there are very active as they always turn off the
unnecessary light and fans their
 And also students from which we had conversation they assured that they will
try their best to save energy
