INTRODUCTION
 The case starts with Deepak dey sitting inside the
train and reading his friend’s farewell letter.
 Deepak dey starts thinking of his time spend in
Bombay
 Deepak dey worked as an executive in the
management cadre of a major multinational
corporation in India for 5 years.
 He managed challenging assignment an also worked
closely with the top management he also got a
responsible role in a fierce competitive marketing
function.
 The company was fair to him and had given him more
than his share of breaks.
 He was deputed to the international headquarters of
parent corporation.
FACTORS INFLUENCING DEEPAK DEY’S CAREER
CHOICE AND UNSOLVED DILEMMAS IN HIS
MIND.

 Dey always wondered what he liked to do and


the relationship between the job he was doing
and his significance to the society.
 He also felt conflict between his role as a
executive and a broader role as a management
professional.
 He wondered about his mission in life and he
realized his potential in getting ahead of
executive position he wanted to learn much more
than a executives life.
 He also thought is he doing right or not. Is the
new role going to provide the kind of satisfaction
and success he is looking for.
 As an executive he worked with fine people. Is
the environment going to be stimulating in the
academic world .
 He urged for self development and was in a quest
for socially relevant role.
 After thinking for long he went US to pursue
doctoral studies.
RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ATTITUDE AND
BEHAVIORS OF MR. DEY,S

 MR DEY attitude is a kind of human trait but his


behavior is an inborn attributes
 MR DEY attitude is based on experience and
observation.. And his behave is based on
situation
 The way of thinking or felling is reflected by a
persons attitude, and on the contrary a person
'conduct is reflected by his behavior
COMPARSION OF MR DEY’S
EARLIER ATTITUDE
 MR DEY had many friend in Bombay, who had
became a part and parcel of his social life
 Than they joined Back bay reclamation. he
worked with.
 And then after MR DEY enjoyed his years with
this organization and he had learn a lot of things
in these six months .
 He felt lucky to have had a succession of
challenging assignment which provided him with
unsual opportunities to work closely with the top
management
MR DEY,S ATTITUDES AND
BEHAVIOUR SIX MONTHS LATER---
 Six months later he joined a new job and ,then he
finalized all arrangement to pursue doctoral
studies in US.
 He stared enjoying the academic environment .
He sensed certain distance between people and
him
 He had nagging during these six months.
FACTORS OF PREOCCUPATION OF DEY’S
MIND
 Academic driven career in a question.
 Uncertainties of a new job.

 Challenging drive for self development.

 Pressure of perception from external


factors.
CONCLUSION
 Deepak diaries brings out, quite beautifully, the
chaotic, rambling se ,I rational and emotional
churn that goes into making personal decisions.
 He appears to analyze the reason for his
dissatisfaction with his job and alternatives
available to him.
 Being in a situation where personal satisfaction
from ones contribution to social progresses
lacking.
 Whereon can apply ane’s mind and knowledge
and have satisfaction of fulfilling one’s larger
responsibilities which is shown in this case.
 He was confused in making decision weather
leaving the job or pursuing the academic career
was better for him.
