Victorio Edades
In the American period Education was
introduced to the Philippines. And
Victorio Edades is one of the Filipinos
who studied abroad and Influenced the
art making in the country.Instead using
usual bright and happy colors, he used
dull and dark hues in his work with the
life of the lower sectors of the society
as his subjects.
Vicente Manansala
He likes dancing, traveling, cycling and spending
time with her pets. Vicente Manansala was a
Filipino cubist painter and illustrator, born in
Macabebe, Philippines in 1910 and died of cancer
in Manila, Philippines in 1981. Manansala was the
developer of transparent cubism.Cubism,
wherein the "delicate tones, shapes, and
patterns of figure and environment are
masterfully superimposed".
Imelda “Impy” Pilapil
Is a Philippine sculptor who is known for her
graceful works in glass, metal, and
stone.She grew up in Cavite, where she
was always the class artist, especially skilled
in origami.
Nestor Leynes
Leynes' subjects are typically scenes of
Philippine rural life, ranging from women sifting
rice to harvest scenes. He is best known for his
favorite subject, that of the mother and child.
He regularly paints a picture of Christ
every Good friday, a part of his panata
during lent. Realism, sometimes called
naturalism, in the arts is generally the attempt
to represent subject matter truthfully, without
artificiality and avoiding artistic conventions, or
implausible, exotic, and supernatural elements.
