involving in completing a given project.
• The first developed by the United States navy in the
year 1958. It worked well in completing project well
in advance.

• Estimation
• Accuracy
LIMITATIONS

• Difficulty in estimating.
• Repetitive activities.
• Cost control.
• Complications.
CPM: CRITICAL PATH METHOD

• The critical path method is an algorithm

for scheduling a set of project activities.
It is commonly used in the conjunction
with the program evaluation and
review techniques (PERT).
• CPM was first developed by USA in the
year 1956 for doing periodic over
handling and maintenance.
LIMITATIONS

• Does not allow uncertainty

• Estimation are not based on any statistical analysis
• It cannot be used for controlling device.
• Does not have average time.
