Image Placement
Lesson 3: Empowerment
• Image alignment, placement, and sizing. The
align, placement, width, and height attributes of
the image element are used to specify the
placement and size of images when generated to
an output delivery format. The placement of the
image on the output page or screen is defined in
the placement and align attributes.
1. In line with text
• This is default setting for image that are inserted or integrated in
your document.
2. Square
• This setting allows that image you inserted to be placed anywhere
within the paragraph with text going around the image in a square
pattern like a frame.
3. Tight
• This is almost the same as the square setting, but there text hugs or
conforms to the general shape of the image. This allows to get a
more creative effect on your document.
4. Through
• This setting allows the text on your document to flow even tighther
taking the contours and shape of the image. Again this can beset used
with GIF or PNG type of Image.
5. To and Bottoms
• This setting pushes the text away vertically to the top and/or the
bottom of the image so that image occupies a whole text line on its
own as in the example.
6. Behind the Text
• This allows your image to be dragged and placed
anywhere on your documents but with all the text
floating in front of it.
7. In Front of Text

• As it suggest this setting allows your image to be

placed right on top of the text as if your image
was dropped right on it.
