Pre-Visualisation: Camera Control Pt 3

-Distance Shot: Tracking.

For the next camera control tutorial I

looked at camera tracking within a scene
– where the camera follows an action
and/or sequence. For the first shot I
looked at following an exchange of
money between two characters in a
close-up shot. With this I had a series of
three keyframes to follow the characters
as they moved down the street. (frame 1,
165 and 170) making sure to keep the
height and translate motions the same.
To make sure the camera
moved with the characters
in Realtime, I went into
the graph editor and
straightened up the curve
with the linear tangent
option. This then allowing
the camera to follow in
time with the characters
pace.

From there I then play-

blasted the clip using the
options below to get the
final shot.

-Distance Shot: Mid-shot.

Using the same scene from before I then

moved to the next camera which provided a
mid shot to frame the characters. Here I was
able to capture the faces of the two
characters carrying out the transaction as
they moved down the street.
Then again, I went into the graph editor
and straightened up the curve with the
linear tangent option to allow the camera
to follow in time with the characters pace.
Here I then play-blasted the clip using the
settings from before to achieve the final
outcome.
Pre-Visualisation: Camera Control Pt 3:
-Distance Shot: Far Shot.

From there I then moved onto an over the hedge shot from a distance, giving the impression od
someone spying the characters as they make the exchange. For this I used three key frames to
capture the motion. For this take I did not have to alter the graph editor as the characters stay
in shot throughout the take; I then play-blasted as done before.
Pre-visualisation: Camera Control Pt 3: Coverage Shot.

Take 1:
For the next tutorial
it included a car
crash scene in the
city. For the first
shot you see the car
come down the road
and then swerve
round the corner
towards the camera
and the zooms off
down the street in
the opposite
direction.
Take 2:
Here you see a different camera which shoots
from where the car has just come round the
corner and is zoom towards the impending
cross section where the car will collide and
spin out.
From there I then play-blasted through all visible
cameras to get the varying camera shots to follow
the character around the scene.

With these outcomes I then took them into

Premiere Pro and edited the clips together to
achieve a comprehensive scene where the red car
is racing down the street and then spins out once
it collides with the blue car. With this complied
together, I then exported the clip as an MP4
(video) so that it can be watched all together.
