Notes & Guidelines: To be Taken Care during Planning Layout & Flexible Analysis
1) Please avoid large dia. Pipes in upper tiers of Rack.
2) Min. clearance at both Ends of the Connections (Specially for Moment Connections). Also keep clearance of 1.5D
below the connections.
3) Min. distance b/w E & I Cables, if placed side by sides.
4) Min. 2300 Men height at the bottom most tier will be maintained. In case, Vehicle movement is required beneath
the Rack for Maintenance than appropriately height is to be maintained and the same conveyed to C&S.
5) In line with above point, and if overall Rack height is higher or nos. of tiers are more, then C&S will need space in
between the clear height and bottom most piping tier to plan Knee bracings with additional beam. This is to
reduce the lateral movement/displacement and save material of rack.
6) Avoid Piping near the connections, special attention is required at the bracings locations where gusset requirement
is large size. As an rough estimate route piping keeping clearance of 1mx1m.
7) UG Piping to be avoided near the Rack Columns, this can be provided in the center of the Rack at appropriate
depth by clearing the Foundations.
8) UG E&I Trenches to be planned in accordance with above point.
9) The Line Stops to be provided at the braced bay locations, as maximum as possible at any tiers.
10) The large bore lines should be supported at maximum bents/grid beams supports to have proper distribution of
the loads throughout in the Rack.
11) C&S required all basic loads under the supports, separately and not for combinations of loadings. The Wind and
Seismic loads are also required separately for our information's, though we will calculate it.
12) Type of Support at the Tie-in Locations. In case of the restrained rotations (transfer of moments) then that has to
be confirmed during the planning stage so that proper structural arrangement can be done.
