WHAT IS QUALITY CONTROL?

Quality control can be defined as “ part of quality management focused on

fulfilling quality requirements .” While quality assurance relates to how a
process is performed or how a product is made, quality control is more the
inspection aspect of quality management. An alternate definition is “the
operational techniques and activities used to fulfill requirements for quality.”
WHAT WE UNDERSTAND BY QC SERVICES?

Quality control is the combination of quality assurance , the process or set of

processes used to measure and assure the quality of a product , and quality
control , the process of ensuring products and services meet consumer
expectations.
WHAT TASKS A QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTOR FOLLOWS

• Inspect , test, and sample materials or assembled parts or products

for defects and deviations from specifications.
• Observe and monitor production operations and equipment to
ensure conformance to specifications and make or order necessary
process or assembly adjustments.
• discuss inspection results with those responsible for products, and
recommend necessary corrective actions.
• Discard or reject products, materials, and equipment not meeting
specifications.
• An inspector should be able to interpret blueprints and other
drawings that detail products specifications.
• Hours will vary, but an inspector can plan on working a set
schedule that could be on the first, second, or third shift in a
production factory or plant.
