I. INTRODUCTION
 This research paper aims to hand out our
experiences and learning about our recently
conducted Work Immersion at Shakey’s Tikay,
Malolos, together with the problems and struggles.
Additionally, this research paper will hand out the
solutions that we’ve done to solve those hardships.
 Shakey's Pizza was founded in Sacramento, California,
on April 30, 1954, by Sherwood "Shakey" Johnson and
Ed Plummer. Johnson's nickname resulted from nerve
damage following a bout of malaria suffered during
World War II. The parlor opened on the first weekend,
but since the pizza ovens were not yet completed, only
beer was served and Shakey took the profits from beer
sales and bought ingredients for pizza the following
Monday.
 As of early 2015, there were 153 Shakey's outlets in the
Philippines, more than double the number remaining in
the United States. (liquisearch.com, 2019)
 “We genuinely care for our guest. We seek to know
their needs and wants so we can provide them high
quality food products and services at great value
for money”.

VISION:
 “To be the leading and preferred Family
Casual Dining Restaurant, serving pizza as its
core product”.
 The main purpose of this research is to help the
students gain ideas and learnings before engaging to
their Work Immersion subject. Through this research
paper, they will learn how to cope up with situations
in real life setting by means of reading our own
experiences during our Work Immersion. They will
also explore the problems that we've encountered,
and how we solve all those hardships. Additionally,
they will learn the attitude and traits that they must
apply while working with their co-workers. All in all,
with the help of this research, they will acquire the
knowledge and skills that they will use to equip
themselves in their future Work Immersion subject.
 This study was conducted to share the researchers'
experiences during their Work Immersion at
Shakey's Tikay Malolos. This includes a brief
introduction to the said industry, some of the
problems they've encountered and ways they did to
surpass it. In addition, it will serve as a guide to
those students who will also have their work
immersion as time goes by.
 This research was designed for the students of San
Francisco Xavier High School especially for the
incoming Grade 12 students who will definitely
have their work immersion right after they enter a
new school year.
 Engaging on a new environment, means the
discovery of a personal ability to cope up within the
place. The recent activity taught us to be a strong-
willed worker, to be a well-disciplined one and to
be a good follower. Also, as a worker we must
observe our carefulness to the industry wherein we
are being deployed.
 Apart from that, during our working time on the
said industry, we had encountered some problems
that slightly affect our work performaces.

Self Perception Theory by Daryl Bem
 The proponent of Self Perception theory is Daryl
J. Bem. He is a social psychologist and
professor at Cornell University. He has also
researched psi phenomena, group decision
making, handwriting analysis, sexual orientation,
and personality theory and assessment.
 Self-perception theory is an account
of attitude formation developed by psychologist Daryl
Bem. It asserts that people develop their attitudes
(when there is no previous attitude due to a lack of
experience, etc.—and the emotional response is
ambiguous) by observing their own behavior and
concluding what attitudes must have caused it. The
theory is counterintuitive in nature, as the
conventional wisdom is that attitudes determine
behaviors. Furthermore, the theory suggests that
people induce attitudes without accessing internal
cognition and mood states. The person interprets
their own overt behaviors rationally in the same way
they attempt to explain others' behaviors.

 “Work immersion is a key feature in the Senior High School
curriculum and refers to the part of that consists of 80 hours
of hands-on experience or work simulation which Grade 12
students will undergo to expose them to the actual work
setting and to enrich the competencies provided by the
school”.
 “With the four exits envisioned for SHS graduates—namely,
higher education, entrepreneurship, employment or middle-
level skills development—the first batch of Grade 12 learners
are expected to become full-fledged contributors to the
social development and nation-building. Work immersion is a
key subject under the SHS curriculum that is conducted in
different ways and time frame as needed by SHS learners. The
subject provides learners with opportunities to become
familiar with the workplace; for employment simulation, and
to apply their competencies in areas of specialization/applied
subjects in authentic work environments”.

 “The said learning experience that the students can get
from it will surely enable and help students as they
familiarize themselves with the workplace simulation and
apply their competencies in their particular areas. The
completion of work immersion is a prerequisite to
graduation under the K-12 program”.
 “It aims to hone globally competitive citizens, with its
specialized curriculum, gearing Filipino students for
further studies, employment or entrepreneurship.
Experience is considered to be one of life’s greatest
teachers. As trainees, we can use it as a motivation as we
gain expertise in our respective fields. This experience will
surely help us not only for our life as students but also our
future job as professional employees of the country”.

 INTERPRETATION
 With this, Work Immersion aims to nurture the
knowledge and skills of the students in a real world
setting. It will give the students the learning and
skills that they must acquire for their future
endeavors.
After having a research about the problems
encountered during Work Immersion, the
researchers further suggest that the future
researchers must put emphasis on the
“ Effects of Having Work Immersion Subject on
a SHS Student”.
