Name of activity : Kinesthetic
Winter BME Smashmat

Why this activity suits this intelligence :


This activity fits the body / kinesthetic intelligence because the
students are using their hands to physically answer the
question by smashing the Play Dough.

Materials needed : A story, Smashmat and Playdough

Detailed instructions : Students will all be sitting at


the table with a smashmat and a ball of Play Dough on each
snowflake. When the students are asked if the part of the story
is in the beginning, middle, or end the will smash either the
first, second, or third one.

Why this activity suits this intelligence :


This activity suits the visual intelligence because the students a
see the parts of the story layed out in order on common objects
that have a beginning, middle, and end.

Materials needed : A story and the pictures of the


hotdog or train.

Detailed instructions : Either have students or the


teacher can place the beginning, middle, and end of the story
on the template.

Musical
Name of activity : A Language Arts Lesson Using
Music on Beginning, Middle, and End

Why this activity suits this intelligence :


This activity suits the musical intelligence because they are
focusing on the parts of the song and applying it with the story.

Materials needed : A story and a song with distinct


parts to recognize.

Detailed instructions : Read a story to students and


explain and have/help them find the beginning, middle, and end
of the story. Than find a song that has distinct parts maybe
certain words or instruments. Let them just listen once and then
play it again. The second time have students put one finger up
when they think it's the beginning, two for middle, and three for
end.

Why this activity suits this intelligence :


This activity suits the linguistic intelligence because the
students will write the beginning, middle, and end of the story
out, helping the student learn better by writing it out.

Materials needed : The paper templet the students will


use and write on.

Detailed instructions : Students will retell the story


they were told on the paper by putting in in beginning, middle, and
end order with teachers assistance.

Why this activity suits this intelligence :


This activity matches the logical intelligence because it is
having the students match pictures in number order.

Materials needed : Worksheet, scissors, glue

Detailed instructions : Students will read the story


at the top of the page. They will then cut out the pictures and
put them in order on the squares with numbers based on the
order of the story.

Interpersonal

Name of activity : Class read aloud story and reconvie

Why this activity suits this intelligence :


This activity matches the interpersonal intelligence because it is
readying and working together as a group with other
classmates.

Materials needed : A story that has a distinct


beginning, middle, and end

Detailed instructions : The teacher will read a story


out loud to the class. After the story the teacher will then split
students into small groups and they will work together to figure
out what the beginning, middle, and end of the story.

This activity suits the intrapersonal intelligence because it gives
the student the chance to work alone and be able to learn and
understand at their own pace.

Materials needed : A story, beginning, middle, and end

Detailed instructions : Teacher will read story to the


class. The students will then go back to their desks and work
independently on the worksheet. They will explain each part of
the story and draw a picture.
Naturalistic
Name of activity : Eric Carle - Beginning, Middle, End

Why this activity suits this intelligence :


This activity will take place outside and learn about
metamorphosis of a butterfly while still doing a language arts
lesson and learning and understanding beginning, middle, and
end of a story.

Materials needed : The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric


Carle and worksheet.

Detailed instructions : The class will all go outside


and read the story, The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle
and than the students will work together as a class on the
worksheet.
