Functioning of an organisation
depends upon how people work
or behave in an organisation.
In other words, Knowledge about
why people behave as they
behave will help the manager to
achieve organisational goals in a
effective manner.
Definition of Organisational
Behaviour
In the opinion of Robbins “OB is a
field of study that individuals,
groups, and structure have an
behaviour within organisation for
the purpose of applying such
knowledge towards improving an
organisation’s effectiveness.”
Values
Values are general beliefs or
individual judgement about what is
good, right or desirable.
Definition- Rokeach defined value
as “ a specific mood of conduct or
end-state of existence is
personally or socially preferable to
an opposite or converse mode of
conduct or end-state of existence.”
Attitudes
Attitudes are evaluative
statements. They respond one’s
feeling either favourably or
unfavourably to persons, objects
or/and events.
According to Munn “ attitudes are
learned predisposition towards
aspects of our environment. They
be positively or negatively directed
towards certain people, service or
institution.”
