• Two cards are drawn from a pack of 52 cards. What is the probability that both cards
are RED(ii) one is a heart and one is a diamond.

• A bag contains 3 white and 5 black balls. What is the probability that the first ball is
white and the second ball is black if 2 balls are selected at random.

• In a bag containing 8 black and 6 white balls what is the probability that if 5 bills are
drawn at random what is the probability of 3 are white and 2 are black.
• Answer: (8C3* 6C2)/ 14C5
• Five men in a company of 20 are graduates. If three persons are selected at random
what is the probability that they are all graduates?
• Answer: 5C3* 15C0/ 20C3
• At least one is a graduate? 1-(5C0*15C3)/ 20C3.
• A bag contains 8 red and 5 white balls. Two successive withdrawals are made without
replacements. What is the probability that the first drawings would give 3 white balls
and the second drawing would give 3 red balls.

• Four cards are drawn at random from a pack. What is the probability that they belong
to different suits.

• The probability that a student entering the college can come out as
graduate is 0.4. Determine the probability that out of the students
entering the college (i) none (ii) one and (iii) at least one shall be a
graduate. Assume there are 50 students.
