Andreas Decision to pursue an
international Career
 Andreas was a hard working Credit analyst in Frankfurt
headquarter Bank.He was offered a chance to participate in a
leadership development program by his MD Herr.
 The major focus of the program was globalization
 He understood that International experience was a key value for
promotion
 Followed by the program he was offered a three year assignment
in new York for corporate finance role.
 He accepted the offer for the growth of his career and flew to
New York.
Life in New york

 Once he arrived in new York,There was no Necessary


arrangements made and He went to his office by his own means
and was shocked to know that he was appointed for credit
analyst instead of corporate finance.
 He was in dilemma whether to go back or stay.
 He then decided to stay and was accompanied by his wife Lina
and daughter Anne.
 Lina had prior experience in new York and life was smooth after
that. They made several friends.
 At the end of first year they were accompanied by a second
daughter Elena
Career growth

 Andreas career growth in new York was fast - track


 He became the lead of credit analyst in eight months
 Then after a year he became the deputy head of corporate
finance with the help of his german expertise.
 In his fifth year of assignment, To his surprise he became the
head of corporate finance after his boss retired.
 Now he was responsible for a huge area which included Europe
and east asia.
 He was travelling miles and couldn’t spend time for family.
Career switch

 Once he reached Germany ,He took up the role and began to


work with the organisation.
 After few months he decided to switch the organisation.
 He landed with a large german insurance company with the help
of his corporate experience.
 He was offered with a attractive package more than what he
earned in New york
 He then resigned the job and moved to his new job with a happy
family .
