Frida Kahlo (1907-1954)

Who she was?


• Frida Kahlo was born on July 6, 1907 in Coyoacan, Mexico City, but
she told people she was born in 1910, so that people would directly
associate her with the Mexican Revolution that began in 1910. 
• She was a Mexican painter, who mostly painted self-portraits.
Events in her life
• At age 6, she was struck with polio
affecting the use her right leg.
• 1925 bus accident leaves Frida with
injuries from which she never fully
recovers.
• On September 15, 1932, Frida‘s mother dies.
• On July 13, 1954 Frida dies in her sleep.

myself because I am so often
alone and because I am the
subject I know best."
