What is HSS ?
1. High sea sales is a scale carried out by the actual consignee to
another buyer while the goods are yet on high seas or after their
dispatch from the POL and before arrival at the POD.
2. HSS is been accepted under the import trade control regulations
3. High sea sales is mostly been done by traders , who buys in huge
quantities and then look out for buyer at destination..

Day 4
 What is NVCC ?
A freight forwarder who does not own any vessel, but functions as a carrier by
issuing its own bills of landing and assuming responsibility for the shipment.
 What is BL ( Bill of Landing ) ?
BL is a legal document issued by a carrier to a shipper that details the type ,
quantity and destination of the goods being carried. A BL is also serves as a
shipment receipt when the carrier delivers the goods at a predetermined
destination.
 Types Of BL :
1. Original Bill : it’s a physical paper document of a straight BL issued to the
shipper at the port of lading by the carrier.
2. Sea way Bill : In sea way bill no original bill issued to the shipper only copy
issued to the shipper.
3. Surrender bill : SBL is a document issued by exports that allows importer to
legally own the items the exporter shipped.
4. Switch Bill : A switch bill is a set of BL issued by the carrier to substitute
the original bills of landing issued at the time of shipment.

5. Express Bill : A BL is a legal document issued by a carrier to a shipper
that details the type, quantity and destination of the goods being carried.

6. Telex Bill : A telex bill is typically delivered by email and incurs


additional expenses. Ideally , a telex release is quick and convenient, but
issues with paper work can cause delays and may increase cost.
