Lighting Products Present

in the Gym
Batten Lighting
• Batten lighting is a very convenient
and easy to install product for
general areas.
• These lights are cost effective due to
their long-life and energy savings and
require minimal maintenance.
• A great benefit of these lights is that
there is no excessive heat output and
this is important in a gym where
people are often doing strenuous
exercise.
Panel Lights
• When recessed lighting is
required, panel lights are the
best solution.
• These also have a long-life and
share the same energy-saving
qualities characteristic of LED
lighting.
• They can provide a more
streamlined look when needed.
Downlights
• LED downlights are a suitable
replacement for traditional
Halogen or CFL downlights
and can save 50%-70% of the
electricity cost.
• These also have a long-life of
50,000 hours so they will not
need to be replaced very
often.
Ceiling Type
The existing ceiling will influence what type of
lighting is chosen for the space.
• Concrete ceilings are best suited to surface-
mounted lighting solutions
• T-bar ceilings are perfectly paired with troffer
lighting for a streamlined look.
• Plasterboard ceilings can work with virtually all
desired fixtures including recessed and
suspended options.
Hours Of Operation
• As the gym has extended hours or is even
open 24 hours a day it needs to ensure that
it’s lights operate for long periods of time
without burning out or needing maintenance.
• In certain, less-utilised areas of the gym, it has
lights that turn on and off automatically.
