Milano
• Milan is considered a leading Alpha Global
City, with strengths in:

the arts, commerce, design, education, ent
ertainment, fashion, finance,
healthcare, media, services, research,
and tourism.
Its business district hosts Italy's Stock
Exchange and the headquarters of the
largest national and international banks
and companies. In terms of GDP, it has the
third largest economy among European
cities and the wealthiest among European
non-capital cities. Milan is considered part
of the Blue Banana and one of the "Four
Motors for Europe."
Sforza Castle
• Sforza Castle (Italian: Castello
Sforzesco) is located in Milan,
northern Italy. It was built in the
15th century by Francesco
Sforza, Duke of Milan, on the
remnants of a 14th-century
fortification. Later renovated and
enlarged, in the 16th and 17th
centuries it was one of the largest
citadels in Europe. Extensively
rebuilt by Luca Beltrami in 1891–
1905, it now houses several of the
city's museums and art collections.

• Milan Cathedral is the cathedral


church of Milan, Lombardy, 
Italy. Dedicated to St Mary of
the Nativity (Santa Maria
Nascente), it is the seat of
the Archbishop of Milan,
currently Archbishop Mario
Delpini. The cathedral took
nearly six centuries to complete.
It is the largest church in Italy
(the larger St. Peter's Basilica is
in the State of Vatican City) and
the third largest in the world.
Teatro alla Scala
• Most of Italy's greatest operatic
artists, and many of the finest
singers from around the world,
have appeared at La Scala. The
theatre is regarded as one of the
leading opera and ballet theatres
in the world and is home to the
La Scala Theatre Chorus, La Scala
Theatre Ballet and La Scala
Theatre Orchestra. The theatre
also has an associate school,
known as the La Scala Theatre
Academy (Italian: Accademia
Teatro alla Scala), which offers
professional training in music,
dance, stage craft and stage
management.
