Florence is a city located in the north

of the central region of Italy, capital
and most populous city of the homonymous
metropolitan city and of the region of
Tuscany. It has about 378,239
inhabitants.

Florence’s climate is temperate continental, with hot, dry

summers and cold, wet winters.

History
Roman origins.
Florence was founded by Julio Cesar as a settlement for
veteran soldiers in 59 b.c.
Renaissance
The wave of artistic, literary, and scientific research that
took place in Florence in the XIV to XVII centuries was
fueled by concerns with money, banking, and commerce, and by
the display of wealth and leisure.
