reading?
READING ?

reading is an activerocess of interacting with


print and monitoring comprehension to
establish meaning. Since it is an active process,
reading is closely related to other activities
such as thinking, interacting, making
perception, making generalization and of
course comprehension the context.

Ali didn’t have good appetite for several days. He had a toothache.
His mother took him to a dentist. “Ought ! it’s very painfull, Doc.”
Said Ali. The dentist said “Let me check first. Sit on that chair, please.”
After checking Ali’s teeth, the dentist gave him some advice. She said
that Ali should brush his teeth at least twice a day. She also said that
Ali shouldn’t eat too much chocolate candy or ice cream. The dentist
then gave him some medicine to cure the pain.

READING METHOD
(METODE MEMBACA)

The method of reading is a method that


presents subject matter by first prioritizing
reading, the teacher first reads the reading
topics. Then followed by students.

Then to finish the topics that have been determined the
goodness of this method has advantages in terms of,
among others :
1. Students can fluently read and understand foreign
language readings fluently and correctly.
2. Students can use the intonation of foreign language
reading in accordance with the correct reading rules.
3. Of course with these reading lessons students are
expected to also be able to translete words or
understand sentences of foreign languages that are
taught so that children’s language knowledge and
mastery become whole.

IMPROVE READING SKILLS IN ENGLISH
( TINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA DALAM B.INGGRIS )

1. Skimming

Generally this skill starts with read


a piece of text, where the piece is
the beginning and the end sentence
in each paragraph.
2. SCANNING

Look for details such as date, or character’s


name without needing to understang the
contents of the text in a manner the whole is
caaled scanning. Simpler than the previous
skill.
3. INFERENCES

Inferences are estimates that are not stated in a


sentence or paragraph if we see a dark cloudy
sky, then our inference we will fall around “it
will rain soon”. “must prepare an umbrella”. “it
is afternoon”, “there is a solar eclipse” and so
forth.
4. CONCLUSION

Conclusion are the most appropriate and clear


results of inference, and sometimes the
difficulty of conclusions can be drawn from
existing statements only strung together with
different sentences for example, “there are
various cultures in Indonesia”, then conclusions
“can be found in a variety of customs in
Indonesia”.
KESIMPULAN

1. Tes membaca perseptif melibatkan komponen yang


lebih luas : Surat, kata, tanda baca, dan simbol
grafemik lainnya.
2. Metode mengajar dalam bahasa inggris yaitu
metode alami (natural method), metode practice-
theory dan metode reading (reading method).
3. Cara meningkatkan ketrampilan membaca dalam
bahasa inggris anatara lain : Skimming, Scanning,
Inference, and Conclusion.
