CHEMICAL CLASSIFICATION OF MIXTURE
SUBSTANCE AND PURE SUBSTANCE
Substance : A substance is a kind of matter that
cannot be separated into other kind of matter by any
physical process. A pure substance is made up of
same kind of particles.
MIXTURES
A Product formed by mixing two or more substances in
any proportion such that individual substances do not
undergo chemical change but retain their properties.
Example: salt and water, air
Classification of mixture
Types of Mixture : Mixture is of two types :
(i) Homogenous mixture (ii) Heterogenous mixture
i)Homogenous mixtures: components of mixtures are
uniformly [Link] cannot be easily
distinguished
Example:sugar mixed with water.
ii)Heterogenous Mixture: Components of mixtures are
not uniformly mixed and sometimes individual
components are [Link] are easily
distinguished
Example:mixture of sand and salt.
