WHAT IS A BUDGET OF LESSONS?

• Budget of Lessons (BL) is a resource material for teaching


classes that contains K to 12 basic education most essential
learning competencies, skills, and objectives, activities, and
time allotment arranged into columns for easy reference and
notation. It will serve as teacher’s reference in preparing daily
and/or weekly lesson plans.
WHAT IS MELC?

• Most Essential Learning Competencies or MELC, according to


DepEd, refers to “the knowledge, understanding, skills and
attitudes that students need to demonstrate in every lesson
and/or learning activity.”
• Moreover they added, “The MELC’s will enable the Department
to focus instruction to the most essential and indispensable
competencies that our learners must acquire, as we
anticipate challenges in learning delivery.”

HOW TO USE THE BUDGET OF LESSONS?

• The flexibility of learning depends on the pacing of students and


teachers, yet, this 40-days non-negotiable instructional time per
quarter will allow teachers to focus entirely in the delivery of
learning for the MELC. Anchored on the teaching- learning
approaches needed during this new normal, other appropriate
teaching strategies or learning models may be used as necessary.
REMINDERS:

• The budget of lessons serves as the lesson plan of the teacher.


• The budget of lessons is done in weekly basis.
• The budget of lessons is BEST in tabular with column format.
• The budget of lessons will still be made by teachers even after
modules from the CO are distributed to the field.
• The budget of lessons must be checked by the school head.
