Abstract
Prescription using alcohol , tobacco, and marijuana is a growing problem among young
and old generation in the Philippines. It is becoming popular because of its accessibility. This
addiction is often overlooked by our society.

The objective of this paper was to find out the severity of this addiction in Carcar City,
Cebu and what can be done to control this epidemic. Through this research it was found that
this addiction is extremely common among young people and these people are unaware of the
negative consequence of this addiction. It is important to realize that the prescription of this
abuse among teenagers is a broader concern and every group from the society have their own
part to stop the abuse.
INRODUCTION
1.1 Background of the study

Alcohol, tobacco, and marijuana are kinds of illegal addiction that have a big impact to a
human health and body. Alcohol affect all parts of the body including: mental health, eyes, skin ,
blood, brain and nervous system, lungs, hearth, liver, pan creasing, stomach and food pipe, and
sexual health. Smoking tobacco damages your hearth and blood vessels (cardiovascular system),
increasing your risk of hearth disease and stroke. It’s a major cause of coronary hearth disease,
which can lead to a hearth attack. Smoking also causes high blood pressure, lowers your ability
to exercise, and makes your blood more likely to clot. Using marijuana may also affects the
human body and health. But some people use it as medical purposes. Marijuana is made from
the shredded and dried parts of the cannabis plant, including the flowers, seeds, leaves, and
stems, It’s also known as pit, weed, hash, and dozens of other names.
THE PROBLEM
1.3 Statement of the problem
This Study aims to determine the needs to control the usage of alcohol, tobacco,
and marijuana and the threats of this addiction. We attempt to answer these following
questions:

1. What is the main effect when a person continuously use these addictions?
2. What are the ways to overcome the highest standard of health leaving this kind of
addictions?
3. If they stop using these addictions, what could be the result?
1.4 Hypothesis
Teenagers who feel lonely without their family are more likely to engage in
the use of alcohol, tobacco, and marijuana. Also women are more sensitive to the
consumption and long term effects of this addiction. The most affected of this kind of
addictions are the people who around the users.
This hypothesis describes how alcohol, tobacco, and marijuana are used
and consume. It posits a sequence of illicit drug use that begins with experimentation
with alcohol and tobacco, moves on to early marijuana use. The latter use of this can
lead to criminal careers to support addiction habits.
Using this kind of substances has been found to increase the risk for abuse
and dependency on other drugs later in life.
1.5 Significance of the Study
This study will benefits the following:

 Users – they will be able to lessen their use of alcohol, tobacco, and marijuana through reading
this research.
 Non-users – after reading this study, they will have an advance knowledge and more aware about
the severe effects of this addiction.

to the users to be effectively control moderately and prevent disease of physical and mental health.
In this case, the rate of addiction in the country will be lessen.
 Future Researcher – the outcome of this study is useful for the future researchers that will give
them guides and narrow knowledge in their research.
SUMMARY
Alcohol, tobacco, and marijuana are kinds of illegal addiction that have a big impact
to a human health and body and might lead to diseases or death. These three substances are the
common health-risk behaviors used by adolescents and young adult, and even senior citizens
now a days.
This, however, states that substances abuse differs from addiction. Many people with
substance abuse problems are able to quit or can change their unhealthy behavior. Addiction, is
a disease. It means you can’t stop using even when your condition causes you harm.
Overall, Alcohol, Tobacco, and Marijuana are legal and illegal substances that have
chemicals that can change how your body and mind work. They can give you avoid problems
in your life.
CONCLUSION
Therefore, using alcohol, tobacco, and marijuana is more likely dangerous to health when it
continues to be a consumption of some people who were badly addicted to it. Even when exposed to
substances that can be used in ways that cause problems, most people don’t become addicted to them.
Most people who develop addiction have problems already.
However, by adopting an evidence-based public health approach, it has the opportunity to take
genuinely effective steps to prevent and treat substance-related issues. Such an approach can prevent
substance initiation or escalation from use to a disorder, and thus reduce the number of people suffering
with addiction; it can shorten the duration of illness for sufferers; and it can reduce the number of
substance-related deaths. A key ingredient of a drug identification program is the intervention that
occurs after the determination of test results. Drug or addiction testing is a vital tool for case planning
and ongoing monitoring of substance-abusing youth. Critical to intervention is the ability of juvenile
justice practitioners to apply immediate rewards or consequences to substance-abusing youth and to
find appropriate education and treatment programs in the community for them. Since the effects of
these substances on health vary greatly depending on the type of addiction and on the way it is used,
the public health response to substance or drug use should be proportional to the health-related harm it
causes.
Overall, we can conclude that the government should make a faster movement to this matter and
seek better solutions to lessen the rate of this problem. Politics must have quick response regarding this
because the usage of alcohol, tobacco, and marijuana have reached approximately 70% this year. This
could possibly result to the risk of heart attack, stroke, diseases kidney failure, and intestinal diseases.
