STRUCTURE
AFFIRMATIVE
Subject + to be (am, is, are) + Going to + Verb + Complement.
For example:
I am going to be a doctor when i finish university.

NEGATIVE
Subject + to be (am not, isn’t, aren’t) + Going to + Verb + Complement.
For example:
Sara isn’t going to sing with her mother.

INTERROGATIVE
To be (am, is, are) + Subject + Going to + Verb + Complement.
For example:
Are you going to dance tonight?
REMEMBER
WE USE BE GOING TO
1. For plans, intentions or ambitions for the future.
Example:

A) Alex is going to read the newspaper with his friends in the library.

2. For predictions based on what we can see or know, especially


when there is evidence.
Example:
B) It is going to be a cool day.

3. Actions we have already decided to do in near future.


Example:
C) My brother is going to visit us next week.
