Jaime Hernando Garzón Forero
was born in Bogotá on October 24,
1960.

lawyer, pedagogue
and humorist. He
participated in the
mediation processes
for peace in
Colombia.

In 1978, at 18 years
of age and before
entering the
university, Garzón
joined the "José
Solano Sepúlveda"
Front, an urban
network PJ of the
ELN where he
militated under the
alias of Heidi

Sumapaz during the mayor of
Bogotá at the hands of Andrés
Pastrana.

activist in the
political media, he
sought to break into
television.

Sumapaz he had an inconvenience
with a telegram which involved the
FARC media, this led to problems
and his dismissal in 1998.

the Casa de Nariño during Cesar
Gaviria's presidency, where he served as
an unofficial adviser to the presidency.

August 13, 1999, two
men shot him
approximately 6 times
and after this his vehicle
collided with a light pole.
