WHAT IS

YOUR
DREAM
HOUSE?
FROM THE GROUND UP
life ongoing construction
THE WISE AND FOOLISH BUILDERS
Matthew 7 : 24 – 27 (NIV)
24
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of
mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man
who built his house on the rock.
25
The rain came down, the streams rose, and the
winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not
fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.
26
But everyone who hears these words of mine and
does not put them into practice is like a foolish man
who built his house on sand.
27
The rain came down, the streams rose, and the
winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell
with a great crash.”
Hebrews 3:4
For every house is built by someone, but
God is the builder of everything.

Psalm 127:1
Unless the LORD builds the
house, the builders labor in vain.
Unless the LORD watches over the city, the
guards stand watch in vain.
1. The house symbolizes our foundation as a person.
2. The house symbolizes our life
and what
we want to achieve in life (legacy).
3. When somebody comes to age
or wants to start anew, it is usually by
establishing a house or a new
home.
BUILDING YOUR HOUSE
FOUNDATION
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine
24

and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built
his house on the rock. (Matthew 7:24)

The foundation is the most important part of the house.

It carries majority of the load.

The higher the building you want to build, the

foundation should be stronger and usually built on
deeper in the bedrock.
BUILDING YOUR HOUSE
FOUNDATION
Jude 1:20
But you, dear friends, must continue to build your
lives on the foundation of your holy faith.

We should dig deep in the Word of God

for us to solidify and strengthen our foundation!

When you dig deep, it takes a lot of effort

and dedication. Walang naghuhukay ng
malalim pero mabilis tamarin at sumuko.
BUILDING YOUR HOUSE
COMPOSITION
There are many materials used in building a house:
gravel, sand, cement, etc. for the foundation and the
whole house to become sturdy and strong.

While the Bible is the final authority of our life, all other
“materials of construction”
should be balanced.
BUILDING YOUR HOUSE
COMPOSITION
A person is composed of body, soul (mind) and spirit.
Without balance in your
“building materials” what
you want to establish is in
danger of collapse.
BUILDING YOUR HOUSE
STANDARDS
24
“Therefore everyone who hears
these words
of mine and puts them into practice is like a
wise man who built his house on the rock. (Matthew 7:24)

Before you can put up your house, there are certain

standards to be passed or complied.
Example: Fire Safety Permit, Plumbing/Sanitary
Permit, Building Permit, Environmental Permit, etc.
BUILDING YOUR HOUSE
STANDARDS
This is not an issue of compliance or non-compliance.
STANDARDS SHOULD BE UPDATED EVERYTIME.

In a time when we cannot afford to be slowed down

on whatever it is we are building,

ARE YOU WILLING TO

TAKE THE RISK?
Joshua 24:15
But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you,
then choose for yourselves this day whom you will
serve, whether the Gods your ancestors served
beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites,
in whose land you are living.
But as for me and my
household, we will serve
the LORD.
REFLECTION
What are the things I want to build /
am in the process of building right
now?

Is the foundation of what you are

building strong?

Are the “materials” you want to use

in the right proportion / balanced?

Is it compliant and updated with the

standards?
