THE

CHALLENGE OF
RIDING A BIKE!
Mónica Arenas
BIKES EVERYWHERE!
 I decided to learn to ride a bicycle. I used to watch how friends my age along with close
cousins enjoyed their bikes, however it was not an object that I had in my childhood.
I WISHED

For a considerable time in my

childhood, even though I was not
the type of person who used to
make requests to my parents, I
wanted to have a bicycle, I really
longed for it, but there was no
possibility.
Despite the situation, I really wanted to learn to
ride, because all my friends offered to lend it to
me…

… but since I didn't know how to do it, I had to reject the offer.
One day… at a birthday party for one of my cousins, they were
given new bikes, so the one they had from a while back was left
aside and I was given the chance to use it, it was quite a
challenge. The city where he lived is paved, so the level of
complexity for learning is a little higher.

Despite this, I took the bicycle and started on my way.

Imagine an 8 year old girl trying to learn between stones!
However, it was exciting. It turns out that I was able to
take control of the device sooner than I thought it was
going to take, and the balance worked in my favor.
SPEED!

In less than an hour the bike was already mounted! It was

great the feeling that felt with the air running through the
body, I could not forget that moment. I decided to learn
without anyone supervising, it is what I usually do when
I want to learn something new.
APPLAUSE!

The experience was even cooler when I got back riding my bike
and everyone applauded that I had decided to learn.
