• Three core wiring – Phase, Neutral and Earth
• Distribution to different circuits.
TYPES OF WIRING
Types of wiring depends upon the place of installation, kind of operation
and also environmental and different physical factors:
• Cleat Wiring
• Casing and Capping wiring
• Batten Wiring (CTS or TRS)
• Conduit Wiring
Surface Conduit Wiring
Concealed Conduit Wiring
CLEAT WIRING
Material used in cleat wiring:
• VIR or PVC insulated wires
• Cleats
• Screws

 Held on walls or ceilings by means of porcelain, Plastic or wooden cleats.

 Temporary wiring system
 Conduits and race aways are not used.
 Used in 220V in low ambient temperature.
 Chances of sag
CASING – CAPING WIRING
Materials used:
• VIR or PVC wires
• Casing Enclosure with race away
• Capping
• Elbow, Pushfit or Tee joints
• Screws

 Cheap and Easy to Install  Easy customization

 Safe from Smoke, dust, rain and  Capping prevents from risk of
steam. shock.
BATTEN WIRING
Material Used:
• CTS or TRS cables
• Straight Teak wooden Batten (10mm
thick)
• Tinned Brass link clip ( buckle clip)
• Brass pins

Not suitable for outdoor wiring

Wires are exposed to Humidity, smoke
and steam directly
Only used below 250v
High risk of fire
CONDUIT WIRING
Materials used:
Metallic Conduits:
• VIR or PVC insulated cables
• Class A - thin layer steel sheet
• GI wire of 18SWG low gauge conduit
• Screw • Class B – thick sheet steel
• Coupling sheet high gauge conduit
• Elbow
• 2hole strap
