TASH & BASH SYSTEM
 TASH( Turbine Auxiliary Steam Header)
 BASH (Boiler Auxiliary Steam Header)
 Commonly know as BPRDS/TPRDS station
( Pressure Regulating De superheating Steam)
 It consist of :-
 Set of pressure reducing cum control valve
 Set of pressure reducing(spray) valve
 For maintaining desired pressure & temp
USES OF TASH
(TURBINE AUXILIARY STEAM HEADER)

• Provide sealing of turbine

• To remove the non condensable
gases from condenser through
ejector

TASH
• GSC(gland sealing system)
• Provide steam to de aerator during
start –up
• Interconnection to station PRDS
header for supplying aux steam to
other units.
USES OF BASH
(BOILER AUXILIARY STEAM HEADER)

• Atomisation, cleaning,
scavenging
• FOPH ( for heating of HFO tank)
• HFO tracing line
BASH • VAM
• SCAPH
• Interconnection to station PRDS
header for supplying aux steam
to other units.
OPERATING PARAMETER & ITS
IMPORTANCE
 TASH System
 Operating pressure 15-17 kg/cm2
 Operating temp 230 – 300◦C

 BASH system
 Operating temp 200-300◦C
 Operating pressure 8-12 kg/cm2
WHAT HAPPENS IF THESE
PARAMETR IS NOT MAINTAINED
TASH SYSTEM

 IF OPERATING PRESSURE IS LOW

 Sufficient pressure is not created in ejector so it
will not able to pull non condensable gases from
condenser ( condenser effc. decrease)
 Vacuum will fall with result in lower gland steam
pressure.

 IF OPERATING PRESSURE IS HIGH

 Equipment performance.
TASH SYSTEM
 IF OPERATING TEMPERATURE IS LOW
 Possibilityof forming moisture this will lead
decrease in ejector efficiency.
 Resulting low gland steam temp vibration of
turbine during start up/ shutdown.

 IF OPERATING TEMPERATURE IS HIGH

 Resulting high gland steam temp vibration of
turbine during start up/ shutdown , damaged to
seal.
 Steam in ejector will not condense .
BASH SYSTEM
 IF OPERATING TEMPERATURE IS LOW
 Lead to condensation of HFO
 Sufficient oil can’t be pump in oil burner
 IF OPERATING TEMPERATURE IS HIGH
 Can cause fire in HFO
 IF OPERATING PRESSURE IS LOW
 HFO atomization poor.
 IF OPERATING PRESSURE IS HIGH
 Design for particular pressure can damage pipes.
CONTROLLING OF PARAMETER
 Controlling of pressure
 Through the pneumatic valve of L.C. or H.C.
steam line
 Using H.C. or L.C. line depends on the steam
requirement
 Controlling of temperature
 Through the spray line
