Abstract :
World has witnessing a substantial growth of plastic landfills which are
effecting human and animal habitation. These effects are further increased
by burning the waste plastic, releasing toxic gases and increasing the
global warming. Instead this waste plastic can be converted into
automotive fuel in turn decreasing the consumption of fossil fuels.
In this experiment the plastic pyrolysis oil will be tested in diesel engine
test rig and is compared with normal diesel-fueled engine performance.
By altering the injection timing (IT) varied from 19° btdc, 23° btdc, 25°
btdc and 27° btdc.
Introduction:
Many researchers have worked on the biodiesel fuels in diesel engine and they were
reported that, there were many methods and several research works has been carried
out on conventional diesel engine. The decaying fossil fuels are not meeting all the
standards of diesel engine throughout the world wide. The engine is emitting very
harmful pollutants to the environment, The application of diesel engine is more due to
higher efficiency and more power output. But in contrast, the diesel engine has emitted
the more harmful pollutants like NOx, CO, HC etc. There are many alterations done in
various parameters of engine and types of fuels used to reduce the consumption of
fossil fuels.
To increase the efficiency and decrease the emissions, one of the most important
engine parameters is the injection timing. The effect of injection timing (IT) in
alternative fuels based on waste plastics has been reported little efficient than original
injection timing.
