 Proposed plan for 13th Finance commission
• Duration 2010-11 to 2014-15
• Public Works Department maintains Roads and bridges as under-
• State of UP, at present, has the network of roads and bridges consisting of
following :-
• NH - 5,700 Km
• SH - 8,391 Km
• MDR - 7,335 Km
• ODR - 30,924 Km
• VR - 99,765 Km
• Cycle of renewal /resurfacing for SH,MDR, ODR and VR is 4years,4 years ,5
years and 6 years respectively.
• Approx. 26750 km(SH-2098 km , MDR-1834 km ODR-6184 km and VR-16627
km) need to be renewed every year.
• General maintenance like patch repair, painting and lettering ,repair to shoulders
repair replacement of signage and renewal of traffic markings etc shall be
carried out on regular basis.
• Special Repair to the severe damages to some of the roads and bridges shall be
taken up as and when required to keep the traffic going.
