What is the global warming ?

• Global warming is the increase

in the average temperature of the
Earth's near-surface air and
oceans since the mid-twentieth
century and its projected
continuation
Global warming
effect
• Increasing global temperature will cause
sea level to rise, and is expected to
increase the intensity of extreme weather
events and to change the amount and
pattern of precipitation. Other effects of
global warming include changes in
agricultural yields, trade routes, glacier
retreat, species extinctions and increases
in the ranges of disease vectors
no more snow !
Glacial change
This glacier was once the biggest in South America, but it is
now disappearing at a rate of 200 metres per year.

Where are
green house gases
comes froms ?
Fuel burning

• Most of the energy we use to heat our

homes, for electricity and transport comes
from fossil fuels such as oil, gas and coal
• When fossil fuels are burned, they release
carbon dioxide which is the main
greenhouse gas
agriculture
• Fertilizer using
• Pesticide using
• unforesting

aerosol aplication
•Greenhouse gases
cause the earth to heat up
by trapping the sun’s heat
in the earth’s atmosphere
(acting like a greenhouse)
