Title of research:- Case study on growth of Fast Food Industry in Ranchi

Objectives:-
1. To evaluate the major growth drivers of fast food services.
2. To study the demographic profile of consumers.
3. To study the behavior of consumers towards fast food services.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

In recent years, the Indian fast food industry is undergoing rapid changes and
became popular amongst youths, reflecting a number of underlying
developments. In India, the fast-food industry is expanding at the rate every
year. This study is an attempt to know the factors that are responsible for the
growth and popularity of fast food in Ranchi.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Research Design:- In this study a cross sectional survey will be used to give an insight into
the trends that has increased the fast food industry and how fast food industry is becoming
popular among the consumers in Ranchi. The research will be carried out in two stages. In
stage I, literature review will be done to study variables impacting consumer’s food choice. In
second stage, data were gathered by primary and secondary data collection methods.
An exploratory questionnaire will be designed on parameters concerning food choice and a
consumer survey will be conducted to study the consumer preference.
Source of Data:-
Data will be collected from both primary and secondary sources:
Primary Source: This data will be collected by using the questionnaires, platform - Google
Doc.
Secondary Sources: This data will be collected from various journals, books, websites, and
articles available on internet.
Sample Design:
Population Definition
• Elements- Men, Women, Children’s (Peoples visiting fast food outlets)
• Sample Unit- Fast Food Outlets of Ranchi
• Extent- Ranchi
• Time- October to December
• Sampling Frame- No specific frame
• Sampling Method- Random sampling
• Sample size- 60 respondents
Data Collection Tools:
A structured questionnaire with pre-arranged questions regarding consumption and other
factors responsible for popularity of fast food among the consumers will be used. The
questionnaire will consist close ended questions.
Data analysis tools:
Frequency analysis and descriptive analysis will be used for analysis of data.
