Peer Mentors provide a strong intellectual

and social foundation for incoming students
that will enhance their personal and
professional growth throughout their education.

• Promote unity among class years

• Encourage involvement in clubs and organizations
• Provide a support network for entering students
• Adjunct to academic advisors and faculty advisors
• Mentoring and leadership opportunities for students

What is Expected of Mentors

• Contact mentees before start of classes

• Make mentees feel welcome and connected
• Attendance at training session each semester
• Keep in touch with assigned mentees throughout
semester
• Fill out “Mentor Reports” every month
• Attend at least 2 program events

• Willing to make the commitment to the program

• ~ 40 Mentors
• You will have at least 2 Mentees
• Required attendance at some program events
• More training and contact with Mentors
