➔ FORM: will + bare infinitive (without to)

E.g.:

➔ USE:

We use will + bare infinitive

★ for predicting something that we know or believe we know something about.


We often use it with think, hope, expect, believe.

E.g.: l think Rachel will get the job, (She has the right qualifications and
experience.)

★ to express spontaneous or sudden decisions taken at the moment of speaking.


We can´t use going to in
E.g.:Don't order о taxi - l'll take you to the Station. this case!
Going to
➔ FORM: going to + bare infinitive

Eg.:

Aff. My mother is going to buy me a gravitiy cake!

Neg. My brother is not going to take a piece of that cake.

Int. Are you going to throw a party?


Going to
➔ USE:

We use going to + bare infinitive

★ for predicting something we can see, feel or hear some evidence of now.
We can´t use present
E.g.: Look at those clouds, it's going to rain.
continuous in this case.

★ to talk about things that have already been decided, e.g. plans and
arrangements made before the moment of speaking.

E.g.: We're going to have a surprise рartу for Mum's fiftieth birthday.
We саn´t use will + bare infinitive in

We use the present continuous

★ to taIk about personal plans and arrangements.

E.g.: We're spending next weekend with Eric and Sophie, (It´s our own
personal plan.)

e.g.:

Aff. My art course starts at 14:00 pm.

Neg. The school does not open until 07:20 am.

Present Simple
➔ USE:

We use the Present Simple

★ to talk about arrangements that are determined by timetables and


programmes.

E.g.: Her course begins next month. // The next train to Cambridge leaves
from platform З.
Talking time!
-something you intend to do this evening,

-something you've arranged to do next week.

-something you believe will happen later today.

-something that is possible tomorrow.

-something you decide to do while you are talking.
