Who are Calling
the Shots?
"Calling the Shots" are a Bristol based
production company. They have been using
creative media to engage new audiences
and develop talent since 1998. Calling the
Shots have a reputation for innovative
projects, effective management and
professional production. Founded by Steve
Gear and Jeremy Routledge, Calling the
Shots' aim is to widen participation and to
help people express themselves through
creative media.
What they do?
They offer in house production to deliver
everything from short web films such as documentaries
or drama productions. As well as also help explore the
key aspects of what you want to bring to your project 
and help find solutions that deliver results within
your budget. 
They have wide experience of advising heritage,
corporate and university clients to design and
develop digital media for research purposes. 
They have had over 20 years' experience delivering
projects which engage communities and
widen participation in creative education and media
connecting across different communities. 
Also have supported delivering work at the
highest standards  to the BBC, Channel 4 and the UK
Film Council.
What is the
history?

Their first ever Production was called Stray,


releasing in 1998. Stray was a film about
homeless teenagers living in St Paul's,
Bristol, and gained a lot of popularity. Their
line of success has built up over the
years, enabling them to partner up with
small charity's and even big production
company's like channel 4 and Honda UK
