EPEP PROPOSAL
Problem Identification:

Our proposal revolves around a unique concept of calculating “actual financial


profitability” as compared to “apparent financial profitability” especially in a service
based industry which usually works on man-hour basis rather than on any physical
product.

Service industries which sell man-hours to their clients have an issue of knowing the
real per dollar value of their services as it depends on may factors. Some of such
factors include differences in:

• Professional experience, skills set, Capabilities, etc. of employees


• Evaluation criteria
• Nature of services
• Location & Clients
• Remuneration Packages, etc.

Lets take 2 Questions:

Q1) Is this really a Problem?

If you ask the CEO of any consultancy or service based organization that how you
measure the exact profitability of your organization then may be he will not be able
to give you the 100% accurate answer. The reason being many factors associated with
the services based business. So the answer is big YES…..!!

Q2) Is this problem solved by latest Project Management Softwares &


Tools?

The Answer is NO…!!


EPEP PROPOSAL
So what's the Solution?

• Our proposal gives a unique solution to the identified problem by developing and
implementing a web based tool named as “Employee Performance Evaluation Portal
(EPEP)” which will calculate the “actual profitability” vs “apparent profitability”.

• EPEP will have some inbuilt data of all the employees, projects and services.

• Employees will fill their working data on daily basis while providing different services to
their respective clients.

• The tool will calculate their actual output and hence the actual profitability will be visible to
Management on any particular project.

• Such a data will also enable Management to draft accurate cost proposals while bidding for
different projects.

What are commercial benefits & implications?

• Management to estimate the actual man-hours required against the proposed man-hours
with contingencies on any given project. Once the real financial efforts are estimated then it
will help the management to calculate the actual profitability.
• EPEP will decrease employees reluctance in reporting man-hours on the correct
deliverables on daily basis. Issues like reporting which wrong reporting of man-hours will
be solved.
• Covering benefits into monetary terms e.g. medical benefits has to be converted and
included in the Lumsum monetary value given to employee.
• Accuracy of data – data like employee proficiency, experience, etc.
• EPEP will provide reliability of Cost proposal to Client – all cost proposals are not
developed in to detailed level so there may be an issue in the reliability of proposal
• Lesser Cost contingencies which will give better visibility to Management.
