 Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited (SJIBL) commenced its
commercial operation in accordance with principle of Islamic
Shariah on the 10th May 2001 under the Bank Companies Act,
1991.

 Islamic Banking, in essence, is not only INTEREST-FREE


banking business, it carries deal wise business product thereby
generating real income and thus boosting GDP of the economy.

Management Information System (MIS):
 Refers to the processing of information through computers to
manage and support managerial decisions within an
organization.

 The concept may include systems termed transaction


processing system, decision support system, expert system, or
executive information system.

 The term is often used in the academic study of businesses and


has connections with other areas, such as information systems,
information technology, and informatics, e-commerce and
computer science.

There are four types of MIS that will be introduced in ascending
order of sophistication.
Transaction Processing Systems: (TPS)

Recommendations:

 Forbetterment of the organization, management should development and maintain


current MIS policy and practice.

 Bank should review and update MIS policy or practice regularly.

 Bankshould have well defined policy to monitor the new Management Information
System.

 User manual for the MIS should completely be meaningful and easy to understand.

 Management should encourage filing system for record keeping with MIS process.

 Organization should have its own automated management information system.


Conclusion:

The study was conducted to assess the services of Shahjalal Islami


Bank Limited regarding implementation of management
information system. We have visited the bank and talked with the
head of IT dept. to collect the information about the Management
Information System of of Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited. And the
collected information is that management of of Shahjalal Islami
Bank Limited has developed and maintained current MIS policy
or practice. MIS policies or practice can provide guidance to
company employees to achieve their purposes and they believed
that these policies provide enough guidance to achieve effective
two-way communication between management and employees.
