•Chile
"water and air in this area are incredibly
clean. It is an ecosystem that existed on
the planet before the world industrial
revolution. "
•Canada
Scientists believe that this can be
achieved by unique mountain
ecosystem around the city that
makes water decontaminated
flowing through several layers of
soil, clay and sand.
•Denmark
In the sixties of the 20th century, the pollution
of the country's water resources and the harbor
near the capital city of Copenhagen reached
alarming values of such a scale that the
government acted quickly.
•Austria

performance index, Austria is on one of
the first places.

they recommend it to the tourists to drink it
straight from the lake. The water flows are
particularly clear due to the layers of
volcanic sediment through which the water
pours to the surface perfectly filtered.
•Germany

inspected food products in the country
•Greenland
Wastewater is regulated very strictly. For its
discharge to the sea or other watercourse,
enterprises must have a special permit issued by the
government.
In particular, this permit regulates the amount of
waste discharged and its composition, with
wastewater being discharged only under strict time
constraints.
•Switzerland
Strict regulations, however, have brought their fruit to
the Swiss for the last 50 years. Water is safe to drink
directly from the strand without any concerns about
your own health.
CONDITION IN INDIA
• Rapid industrialization, urbanization, and population expansion in India have created a
number of environmental problems, water pollution being the major one. This has led to
deterioration in both the quality and quantity of surface and groundwater, thereby
affecting the net availability of water for consumptive use. Despite numerous steps taken
by government and local communities, India continues to be deprived of safe drinking
water.
WHY IS THE DIFFERENCE IN THE WATER QUALITY ?
• Select as country (No two groups will select same country) , identify the water quality standards in
that country
• Compare the standard limits with WHO standards for the following parameters
1. pH
2. Turbidity
3. Hardness
4. Total Solids
5. Chorides
6. Total Solids and Dissolved solids
7. Nitrates
• Work in group of two
• I will float an excel sheet in which you will write group members name and country
• Don’t repeat the country within two groups
