ABC Company decided to appoint a project manager to
manage the implementation of their new integrated
information management system.

i. Define the term project management.

ii. List the Four (4) phases of project management.

Company?
i. Define the term project management
Project management is the ongoing process of directing and
coordinating all the steps in the development of an information
system.
The main objective of the project management is to ensure a
successful completion of a project. A project will be considered
as successful only if it is completed with certain quality level,
within the budget allocated and the time duration planned.
Effective project management is necessary throughout the
entire systems development life cycle to ensure successful
completion of the project
Many stages are involved in a particular project development. A
project manager, therefore, needs to have the necessary skills
and experience to manage the project.
ii. List the Four (4) phases of project
management.
Project Initiation
- assess the size, scope, and complexity of the project.
- establish procedures to support later project activities.
Project Planning
- defining clear, discrete activities and the work needed
to complete each activity within a single project.
Project Execution
- to execute the plans created in the prior phases (project
initiation and planning) are put into action.

Project Close-Down
- bringing a project to an end.
- Project can conclude with a natural or unnatural
termination.
 A natural termination occurs when the requirement of
the project have been meet; the project has been
complete and is success.
 A unnatural termination occurs when the project is
stopped before completion.(Failure)

ABC Company?
Project management specialist in every organization
whether small, medium or large. Project management
helps the organizations to get maximum return by
using the minimum resources and helps the company
to cut their expenses.
It also increases the productivity of employees or team
members. Project teams work professionally which
results in customer satisfaction.

In current scenario when there is tough completion, a
business can only succeed if it adopts innovation and
creativity and project management ensures both these
things.
Project management helps the company to complete
the work systematically as everything is done in a
proper sequence starting from setting the goals and
objectives of the project to implementing the
strategies for achieving these goals.
