    Types of Supports and its Reactions

    Types of supports
    Different types of supports are :

     Simple support
     Hinged Support
     Roller Support
     Fixed Support
    Simple support :
     In this kind of support, the
    support is obviously that,
    provided by the beam.
     That is no relation between

    the support & the beam.


     Only vertical reaction will be

    created with this form of


    help.
    Hinged support

     A hinge connects the beam


    and the support.
     The beam will revolve

    around the hinge.


     Vertical, horizontal, or

    inclined reactions may be.


    Roller support
     Rollers are positioned below the
    beam in this type of support, and the
    beam will slip overhead the surges.
