What is cladding?

• Cladding is an exterior finishing system meant to protect the underlying structure (like a home) and provide an aesthetically appealing finish.
• How long it lasts depends on the type of cladding, but most cladding systems are quite durable and last up to 50 years.
High Pressure Laminate Cladding (HPL)

High Pressure Laminate (HPL) panels are a form of cladding typically manufactured
by layering sheets of wood or paper fiber with a resin and bonding them under heat
and pressure.
ADVANTADGES OF HPL CLADDING:
• HPL cladding, when used as exterior cladding, promise remarkable durability.
• HPL cladding offers hassle-free maintenance as they are quite easy to clean.
• Ease of installation is another factor to consider when selecting a surfacing material for
office spaces.
• Wrap Up
DISADVANTAGES :
• They cannot be used in extreme environments.
• Their color gets fade with time.
Stone cladding

• Stone cladding is comprised of thin layers of natural or simulated stone (simulated stone is much cheaper than real stone) on the exterior of homes or
buildings. Homes with stone cladding tend to look more elegant, natural, and earthy .
Aluminum Composite Panels (ACP Sheets)
It is made up of aluminium composite material(ACM), which contains two thinly
coated aluminium sheets. Being comprised of two distinct materials that is metals
and non-metal, as aluminium is a metal and polyethylene plastic is a nonmetal, it
overcomes the limitations and the drawbacks of the original material.
ADVANTAGES :
•It’s lightweight
•It’s delightfully flexible
•It’s easy to work with
•It’s easy to install
•It can be installed real fast
DISADVANTAGES :
• During storms and hurricanes, their susceptibility to dents
is heightened
• If the joints are not carefully sealed, water might leak into
the building.
Fiber Cement Board
In fiber cement there is fiber reinforcement with cement, which contributes to making the
fiber-cement material even stronger. Together with a carefully planned production process,
fiber cement makes it possible to develop strong and long lasting construction materials.
ADVANTAGES :
•Durable
•Fire resistant
•Insect resistant
•Great appearance
DISADVANTAGES :
•Heavy
•Brittle: may chip or crack
•Dusty when cut
•Higher cost
Glass Reinforced Concrete Cladding

It is a composite mix of cement, fine aggregates, water, chemical admixtures and alkali
resistant glass fibers.

ADVANTAGES :
• GRC can be painted, faced with fine aggregates
• , colored or simply left with a natural white or grey,
• smooth or textured finish.
• GRC is environmentally friendly.
• GRC products reduce loadings on buildings leading to
significant savings in superstructure and foundations.
• GRC is excellent for reproduction and renovation.
Glass Cladding decorative or colored glass claddings provide a practical and cost effective
alternative to tiling, painting and other forms of decoration. glass cladding can provide a striking, easily
maintained wall surface that is ideal in a wide range of commercial interiors and exteriors.

ADVANTAGES :

• Adds beauty to the overall space.

• It can transmit natural light in both directions.
• Usually weather-resistant and requires minimal
cleaning.
DISADVANTAGES :

• Causes a lot of glare

• Allows absorption of heat and act as a greenhouse

• Glass façades are not earthquake-resistant

Vinyl cladding
vinyl cladding comes in many colors and it looks great on all kinds of homes. it’s recyclable, economical, and uses fewer resources when
it’s being manufactured. it also requires little maintenance, and you can add
insulation to it pretty easily.

• Vinyl material in North America and now are available in India too. ... Sidings are
Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) materials to which several processing aids have been added to
enhance their performance. Sidings are external wall-cladding products. They are the
most popular cladding They come in the form of panels
Brick cladding

• You can create various looks and patterns by using different colored bricks
in a brick cladding system. Bricks are also easy to work with, lightweight,
and a good insulator. They also don’t need much maintenance
