Past Simple

- Things/actions that happened at a specific time in the past.

Time : 1. yesterday (semalam)

2. last week (minggu lepas)
3. last night (malam tadi)
4. just now (sebentar tadi)
- To talk about things happened in the past we have to change the verb.

Example : 1. They play in the sun.

2. They played in the sun yesterday.

 Past Simple
Positive (+) Negative (-) (did not = didn’t)
play I played in the sun. I didn’t play in the sun.
jump He jumped into the water. He didn’t jump into the water.
watch She watched a film. She didn’t watch a film.
climb You climbed a tree. You didn’t climb a tree.
go They went to the beach. They didn’t go to the beach.
swim We swam in the s We didn’t swim in the river.
eat It ate the fish. It didn’t eat the fish.
see They saw a butterfly. They didn’t see a butterfly.
catch He caught a fish. He didn’t catch a fish.
cook She cooked the fish. She didn’t cook the fish.
take I took pictures. I didn’t take pictures.
