 Prayer for the Beatification
of Mother Ignacia del
Espiritu Santo
Father , in heaven your name is glorified over all the earth, in your
saints men and women distinguished by their wholehearted service
and love for you, Through them you have established religious
congregations in your Church.

In your goodness and mercy, you have looked with favor on your
people in the Philippines and have chosen from among them your
lowly handmaid IGNACIA DEL ESPIRITU SANTO to be the
foundress of a religious family under the special protection of the
Blessed Virgin Mary.
 Prayer for the Beatification of
Mother Ignacia del Espiritu
Santo
We humbly ask you then to glorify your name in her by performing
the miracles needed for her beatification, through your Son, our Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ (short pause for silent petition)

May her prayers and intercession obtain for us the favors we ask
for particularly that of remaining ever faithful to your love and
service. Amen.
 The context in which her spirituality of humble service is
lived.
Fruits : PEACE and HARMONY, MUTUAL LOVE, UNION OF
WILLS, WITNESSING TO THE LOVE OF CHRIST, and
MATERNAL CARE OF THE BLESSED MOTHER.
Murillo Velarde notes that they (beatas) did not give any cause of
scandal, but rather they gave much edification by their devotion,
humility, application to work, and to the Spiritual
exercises.
It sustained them in their moments of difficulties
especially during extreme poverty.
They undertook education on children whether
Spanish, Spanish mestizas or Chinese mestizas and
natives.
They opened the house for women who wanted to
make the Spiritual exercises
 Mo. Ignacia prayed earnestly and performed
penances to move God to have mercy on them and
all who needed God’s mercy.
Her spirituality of humble service was
expressed in her capacity to forgive, to bear
wrongs patiently, and to correct with
gentleness and meekness. (II.6)
 Instead of claiming the right to govern the house as a
foundress until her death, she chose to step down and one
of the members.
She lived 11 or 16 more years as a beata.
At her death, she must have experienced the joy of having
lived her life always in search of the Father’s will in union
with the crucified Christ.
Her response to God’s call led to the emergence of a
community of native religious women.
Her humble service manifested the power of God breaking
through the limits imposed by society.
