FORTH GENERATION

1. T h e m i c r o p r o c e s s o r b r o u g h t i n t h e
fourth generation of computers.
Thousands of the integrated circuits
were built on the single silicon chip.
2. T h e fourth generation of the
computer became more powerful and
could be linked together to form the
networks which led to internet
development.
MICROPROCESSOR
ADVANTAGE

• The air conditioner is

not required
• To t a l l y u s e d f o r
general purposes
• Small and compact in
size
• Heat generated is
negligible which is good
• Faster than its
predecessor
DISADVANTAGE

1. H i g h l y s o p h i s t i c a t e d t e c h n o l o g y i s u s e d f o r
the manufacture of LSI chips.
FIFTH GENERATION

1. T h e f i f t h g e n e r a t i o n o f t h e c o m p u t e r
is based on artificial intelligence
and still in development.
2. T h e goal of fifth-generation
computing is to develop devices that
respond to natural language input
and are capable of learning and self-
organization.
FIFTH GENERATION

Some application of 5th generation Computers are:

• Voice Recognition
• Face Recognition
• Quantum Computation
• Molecular technology etc. and many more…
FIFTH
GENERATION
• ULSI technology
• Development of true
artificial intelligence
• Development of Natural
language processing
• Advancement in Parallel
ADVANTAGE Processing
• Advancement in
Superconductor technology
• More user-friendly
interfaces with multimedia
features
• Av a i l a b i l i t y o f v e r y
powerful and compact
computers at cheaper
rates.
• The fifth generation computers
will use super large scale
integrated chips.
• They will have artificial
intelligence.

ADVANTAGE • They will be able to recognize

image and graphs.
• Fifth generation computer aims
to be able to solve the highly
complex problem including
decision making, logical
reasoning.
• They will be able to use more
than one CPU for faster
processing speed.
• Fifth generation computers are
intended to work with natural
language.
• These computers are much
faster than other generation
computers.
• It is easier to repair these
computers.
• These computers are much
ADVANTAGE smaller in size than other
generation computers
• They are portable and easy to
handle.
• Development of true artificial
intelligence.
• Advancement in Parallel
Processing.
• Advancement in Superconductor
technology
