Many television advertisements tell a story,

sometimes in less than 30 seconds. Think of a
narrative TV advert that you have seen recently.
Write down what happens. Show your story to
another student and ask him/her to guess what
the advertisement is for. Use the narrative
present tense when you write it down.

The advertisement I saw recently was

McDonalds where a famous rapper,
Travis Scott promoted their food. I showed this advertisement
to my colleague Alin, and he
guessed the advertisement
quickly because he eats too at
McDonalds and he watched the
advertisement.

Imagine you are writing the application letter

yourslef. Try to incorporate the following
improvements:
- The job is an computer company, but the letter
doesn’t say anything about computer skills.
- Vary the way sentences start. Too many of them
start with “I”.
- Some of the sentences are too short. Long
sentences can also be a problem, but a series of
short sentences doesn’t look good.
- Don’t use the same adjective more than twice – the
word “good” appears four times in the third
paragraph.
- Sound more enthusiastic about yourself and your
achievements!
Dear Mr.Joe
I address you this letter of intent as a result of a job announcement published on local
newspaper. I am very much interested in the work environment established by your organisation
and I want to contribute to your company’s development through my own, competent work and
professional skills.
I benefit from a year’s experience in managing a notary’s office as well as from a university
education, as resulted from the attached resume.
I hope that my knowledge of basic accounting, my communications skills and advanced level of
knowledge of English as well as my computer skills developed during college, recommend me for
a place in your team.
While documenting about the activities of your company, I noticed with satisfaction that
your profile and achievements fully meet my professional aspirations. Please consider my
application for obtaining the job of assistant manager.
I am available for the next step in the recruitment process.

Sincerely, Rugină Emanuel Niki
