MOBILE PHONE

COMMUNICATION
INTRODUCTION
A hand held mobile radiotelephone is an old dream of radio
engineering

Early predecessor of cellular phones included analog radio

communication
DEFINATION
 A mobile phone is a device tat can make and receive telephone
calls over a radio link while moving around a wide geographic area.

It does so by connecting to a cellular network provided by a

mobile phone operator, allowing access to the public telephone
network.
CELL
 A cellular network on mobile network is a wireless is a wireless
network distributed over land areas called cells, each served by at
least one fixed-location transceiver, known as a cell site or base
station. In a cellular network each cell uses a different set of
frequencies from neighboring cell, to avoid interference and
provide guaranteed bandwidth within each cell
TYPES OF CELLS
I. Macrocell – Their coverage is large [approx. 6 miles in
diameter];used in remote areas
II. Microcell - Their coverage is small [half and a mile in
diameter];and are used in urban areas zones
III. Picocell – It is a small cellular based station typically
covering a small area, such as a small building or more recently
in air-crafts
COMPONENTS OF CELLULAR
NETWORK
o Radio transceiver – low power radio transmitter and receiver.
o Antenna – which is usually located inside a phone
o Control circuitry – Formats the data sent to and from the BTS; controls
signal transmission and reception.
oInterface – Consists a keypad and a display which is managed by the
circuitry.
oSIM – Integrated circuit card that stores the identity information of the
subscriber.
ROLE OF THE ELL PHONE IN
COMMUNICATION
 CELL PHONE CONNECTION

 INTERACTIVE COMMUNICATION

 LONG DISTANCE COMMUNICATION

 AID TO BUSINESSESS
HOW CELLPHONES CALL TRAVEL
When you speak into a cellphone, a tiny microphone in the handset converts the up and
down sounds of the voice into a corresponding up and down pattern of electrical signal.
A microchip inside the phone turn these signals into strings of numbers. The numbers are
packed up into a radio wave and are beamed out from the phones antenna. the radio wave races
through the air at the speed of light until it reaches the nearest cellphone mast.
The mast receives the signals and passes them on to its base stations. From the base station
the calls are routed towards their destination
ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF
MOBILE COMMUNICATION
ADVANTAGES DISADVANTAGES

 Communication is easier ,from any part of The finest disadvantage of it is that they have
the planet impacted the natural method of human

CONCLUSION
◦ Mobile communication is the fastest growing part of network based wireless
technology
◦ Around the world there are millions of people using cellphones. The cell phones are
the wonderful gadget because of which we can talk to anyone, anywhere in this planet
◦ This type of communication allows individuals to convers with one another and/or
transmit and receive data while moving from place to place
