INTRODUCTION
 Skill India is an initiative of the Government of India It was
launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 15th July 2015
with an aim to train over 40 crore people in India in different
skills by 2022.
 The initiatives include National Skill Development Mission,
National Policy for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship
2015, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) scheme
and the Skill Loan scheme
 Skill India won’t be just a programme but a movement. Here,
youth who are jobless, college and schools dropouts, along with
the educated ones, from rural and urban areas, all will be given
value addition
VISION & MISSION
 Vision - NSDC was set up as part of a national skill development
mission to fulfill the growing need in India for skilled manpower
across sectors and narrow the existing gap between the demand
and supply of skills. There is a compelling need to launch a
world- class skill development program in a mission mode that
will address the challenge of imparting the skills required by a
growing economy
 Mission - Upgrade skills to international standards through
significant industry involvement and develop necessary
frameworks for standards, curriculum and quality assurance. Play
the role of a "market-maker" by bringing financing, particularly in
sectors where market mechanisms are ineffective or missing

Corporation India (NSDC) was
National Skill Development Agency (NSDA)
setup as a one of its kind, Public
Private Partnership Company
with the primary mandate of
catalysing the skills landscape in
National Skill Development Fund India.

INTRODUCTION

 Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojanais a unique initiative by


the Government of India that aims to offer 24 lakh Indian youth
meaningful, industry relevant, skill based training.
 Under this scheme, the trainees will be offered a financial reward
and a government certification on successful completion of
training and assessment, which will help them in securing a job
for a better future

 Use this website, helpline no. or participation in a kaushal vikas shivir conducted in
your constituency.
 The public is warned to be cautious of unauthorised non-affiliated training centrers, in case
of any violation of the scheme, please lodge a complaint online through the grievance
redessal portel.

 Enroll in a course of your choice and one you are eligible for.
 Trainee are required to pay the training and assessment fees.
 At the time of enrolment, you will be required to provide your Adhaar card
and bank account details.

 The training you will receive at a PMKVY affiliated training centre is aligned to the
Nation Occupational Standards (NOS) and Qualification Packs (QPs) that have been
formulated by Sector Skill Councils (SSCc) for each job role.

Be Assessed and
Certified

 Towards the end of your course, you will be assessed by an SSC approved assessment
agency.
 If you pass the assessment and have a valid Adhaar card, you will receive a
government certification and skill card.
 Trainees can undergo the assessment any number of times, but they are required to
pay

 You will receive a monetary reward for being certified.
 The reward will be disbursed directly to your bank account.
 A trainee is eligible to receive the monetary reward only if
 he/she has a valid bank account and has been certified.

 Short-term skill courses, resulting in low placements.
 Do not have a holistic approach to vocational education and
skill development courses.
 The percentage of partners increased, who had not
 achieved training targets.
 Partners also could not
achieve the placement
targets for the trained.
CONCLUSION

Skill India is ambitious programme of Government of


India. At present India faces a severe shortage of trained
workers. Only 2.3% of India’s work force has formal skill
training compared to 68% in the UK, 75% in Germany,
52% in USA, 80% in Japan and 96% in South Korea.
Hence there is an urgent need to impart skills in more
efficient way. Hence Skill India needs concerted attention
to achieve desired goals.
