SIMPLE PAST REGULAR VERBS
• Generally, verbs are made into Simple Past Tense by adding –ed or –d.
Walked talked rained wanted smiled loved decided lived
• When words have one vowel in the middle and one consonant at the end, usually we add one more consonan and then
add –ed.
Stop stopped
rub rubbed
refer referred
permit permitted
stun stunned
• For verbs ending in –y, the –y is replaced with –ied.
